THE SWINGING GYPSIES

This Johannesburg based ensemble takes their inspiration from the days when swing was fun and set the mood for most parties and clubs.

The vibey brass section consists of Joe Penn on Saxophone and trombone legend Dan Selsic. With Pete Sklair on bass and Dio Santos on drums, they have one of Joburg's tightest rhythm sections and the band is rounded of with Christoff Beukes on guitar and vocals.

Their eclectic repertoire covers a lot of bases: Gypsy Jazz, Balkan Folk/Klezmer, the Tango from “Scent of a Woman”,some of their own arrangements of pop classics like Paint it Black, Crazy, Love the One.
